The train starts off slow, like a real train, then speeds up to full speed while making whistling and regular train noises. Great first train for our toddler! I was back and forth on getting it for him, then he actually asked for a train. I’m so happy we purchased it for him! The tracks were easy to set up and came with little clips to keep the track pieces together. The train rides nicely around the track and kept our toddler entertained. The connectors between the cars have to be put together on the track or else each one falls off while trying to connect the next, but definitely easier than other trains I’ve had. I think this is a really high quality product considering the price! We did not try the steam effect feature. We didn’t even tell my son about it because then he would want to constantly refill it.

I’m always too busy to leave reviews but even though delayed I felt this toy train really deserves one, so I’m making time to write it. My 1.5 yr old grandson is obsessed with trains. We had a very expensive train around our Christmas tree and he wanted to play with it but we put it away and ordered this train as a replacement. My initial thought was for the price it would be broken in a week. Well here it is 5 months later and good as new. He has given this train quite a beating as he carries it everywhere, drops it on the floor etc etc. But it still works as normal. It is the cutest thing that actually has real train sound, light up headlight and smokes upon start. I can’t believe it still goes around the track fine after all the abuse it has taken and even better is he can take it outside and the engine will drive around on the pavement without needing the track. I have been bragging about how this train has been indestructible for all the abuse it has taken and what a bargain! I would give it 100 stars!! Best purchase ever for our little guy. He absolutely loves it.
